A Gift Inspired by a Wine Lover’s Journey

As a lifelong wine enthusiast, I’ve always been captivated by the endless variety and discovery that wine offers. My passion truly grew during sommelier school, where I realized just how challenging and rewarding it is to identify the subtle aromas and flavors in every glass.

That’s what inspired me to create SENSOWISE, a kit designed to make learning about wine easy, enjoyable, and unforgettable.

With SENSOWISE, anyone can explore new aromas and flavors at their own pace, just as I did on my own journey.

Give the perfect gift to the wine lover in your life, or anyone eager to deepen their appreciation for wine.

Share the joy of discovery and elevate every tasting experience.

SENSOWISE is a unique sensory training kit that helps you train your nose and palate to recognize the key aromas and flavors in wine.

It’s designed to deepen your appreciation of wine by building real sensory skills through direct,  hands-on experience with the notes found in actual wines.

With 100% natural flavor essences and a neutral, wine-like base called SENSOWINE, it offers a tasting experience you won’t find anywhere else.

Step 1: Pick a Wine Variety to Learn
Choose a grape (like Cabernet Sauvignon or Chardonnay) and a flavor commonly found in it, such as black currant or pineapple.

Step 2: Add That Flavor to Our Practice Wine
Add a drop of that essence into SENSOWINE, our neutral wine-like base designed to highlight individual notes.

Step 3: Smell and Taste the Isolated Flavor
This is the “aha” moment. Experience the real note with no distractions.

Step 4: Add the Flavor to Real Wine
Drop the same essence into a wine of the same grape variety. Suddenly, the flavor you couldn’t detect before jumps out.

Step 5: Now Try the Wine Without It
Go back and taste the wine again. Most people can now recognize the note clearly. That’s palate training in action.

This isn’t just a simple trick, it’s backed by neuroscience.

Imagine asking a friend to play a random sound at a volume so low you can’t recognize it. Then they turn it up so you can clearly hear it. When they lower it back down to the original level, you notice the sound is much clearer and easier to identify.

That’s exactly what happens when you add a drop of natural fruit essence to your wine. You are amplifying the aroma or flavor signal to your brain, while all the other elements of the wine stay present.

This stronger signal helps your brain focus and form clearer connections to that specific fruit note.

By repeating this process with focused attention, your brain’s sensory system becomes sharper and faster at picking out subtle aromas. Much faster than simply smelling or tasting the fruit on its own.

It’s like turning up the volume on your sense of smell, helping you identify even the quietest notes hidden in the complex layers of wine.

  • 18 Essences – Experience a wide variety of notes, from lemon, blackberry, and vanilla to peach, chocolate, and black currant. Develop your nose with this diverse selection.

  • 2 Bottles of Base Wines – Includes SENSOWINE RED and SENSOWINE WHITE

SENSOWINE RED and SENSOWINE WHITE are special liquids made to help you learn about aromas and flavors in wine.

They are made using a secret recipe created by SENSOWISE. These formulas don’t have strong tastes or smells, so you can add your own. SENSOWINE RED has the feel of red wine, and SENSOWINE WHITE has the feel of white wine. They’re perfect for practicing because they let you focus on the aromas and flavors you add.
  • User-Friendly Manual – Step-by-step instructions on how to best utilize each aroma and flavor for a deeper wine-tasting experience.
  • Grape Varieties Booklet – A handy guide covering popular grape varieties, enhancing your knowledge of wine profiles.
  • 3 Engaging Wine Tasting Games
  • 18 Essence cards
  • 30 Grape variety cards
  • Measuring glass
For beginners, we recommend adding 1–3 drops of your chosen essence to the Sensowise base, swirling gently, then smelling and sampling it to explore the flavor. Advanced users can add the essence to a red or white wine that lacks the selected aroma and see if they can identify it within the bouquet, enhancing their ability to recognize subtle nuances.
The flavors and aromas in the SENSOWISE kit are sourced from premium ingredients to ensure authentic and true-to-life taste profiles. Each essence is carefully crafted to provide a realistic representation of its corresponding flavor, allowing for an accurate sensory training.
Yes, all ingredients in SENSOWISE are food-grade and carefully controlled for safety and quality. The kit is designed with your health in mind, ensuring that you can enjoy your sensory exploration without concerns.
SENSOWINE is an alcohol‑free, flavor‑neutral sensory base created to support your flavor discovery journey. It’s designed for training purposes only and does not contain wine. To activate certain flavor compounds, add approximately 38 ml of 80‑proof ethanol for optimal release.
The educational games included in the kit are designed to make learning about wine aromas fun and interactive. Using 15 aroma cards, these games challenge you and your friends to identify various scents, enhancing your ability to recognize them in wines while enjoying a social activity.
Absolutely! SENSOWISE is available for purchase online through our official website. You can get started HERE.
SENSOWISE helps you develop a refined palate by training your senses to recognize and appreciate individual aromas and flavors. This deeper understanding enhances your overall wine experience, allowing you to make more informed choices when selecting wines and pairing them with food.
