SENSOWISE was born from a deep love of wine—not just drinking it, but truly understanding it.
Madis, our founder, set out to sharpen his ability to recognize the subtle aromas and flavors that define great wines. But when he searched for a wine tasting kit, he found the same problem over and over again. The existing kits focused only on smelling—on identifying aromas in little vials.
However wine isn’t just about smell. It’s about taste, about how flavors unfold on the palate.
Determined to create something better, Madis began developing a solution in 2016—one that would take years of research, experimentation, and refinement.
The biggest challenge? Creating a neutral, wine-like base that would allow natural flavors to be both smelled and tasted—something no other kit had attempted before.
At first, he tried to formulate the base himself, but this proved too difficult.
So, he enlisted a team of scientists to help create it, which he later fine-tuned to make it just right.
There were countless failures, missteps, and unexpected discoveries. Finding the best natural sources for flavors took time, as did perfecting the balance so they felt true to real wines.
Through it all, one belief remained: wine education should be immersive, authentic, and accessible to anyone who wants to train their senses.
